Pathsense NUI Galway

Dr Conor O’ Byrne, received an Enterprise Ireland outstanding achievement award for his leadership of the project PATHSENSE (Understanding and Exploiting Mechanisms of Sensory Perception in Bacteria). The ‘Ireland’s Champions of EU Research’ event took place in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham in Dublin. PATHSENSE is a €3.4 million project that will recruit 13 PhD fellows in a collaboration involving eight universities and four companies, located in seven different countries around Europe. The overall goal of the project is to identify vulnerabilities in pathogenic bacteria that can be targeted with next-generation antimicrobial treatments. Click here to learn more
